Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Isolated from the ideas of TCM, it is used here in North America by many as purely a puncture technique with needle. This is why we call ours traditional acupuncture.

Herbology

Here in North America, many people know acupuncture and use the term as a synonym for Chinese medicine. Another less known but very important branch of TCM is herbology. There are now over 10,000 documented ingredients.

Tuina

Tuina is TCM manual therapy consisting of acupressure, massage and manipulation, also called anmo. A modality can be used alone, but very often used with acupuncture. It works very well for babies, children and for the needle phobia.

Cupping

Cupping involves using suction jars sticking to various body parts. The purpose of cupping is to promote energy flow and blood circulation, to detoxify and to release stagnancy. It is also traditionally used for stimulating the immune system.

Moxibution

Moxibustion is the technique of stimulating acupuncture points with burning Chinese mugwart. The main purpose is to warm up the system, improve functioning and promote energy flow. It is often used for yang (warm) and qi (vitality) deficiency.

Guasha

Guasha is an effective means to release toxins from the body and to improve the appearance of the skin. It is carried out by a therapist who scrapes the body surface with guasha tools, which are made of jade, buffalo horns and natural stones.

Dao De Jing
The Tao begets the One;
The One consists of Two in opposition;
The Two begets the Three;
The Three begets all things of the world;
All things connote the Yin and the Yang;
The Yin and the Yang keep acting upon each other;
And thus things keep changing and unifying themselves.
