Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is the native system of medicine and health care evolved in China for thousands of years. It has its philosophical and theoretical foundations, various clinical branches, and rich therapeutic experiences.
Acupuncture is one of the therapeutic modalities in TCM. Acupuncture needles are inserted into acupuncture points. These points are in energetic channels called acupuncture meridians. There are fourteen major acupuncture meridians for a network of energy flow of the human body.
In this photo, the yin-yang symbol stands for harmony, balance and constant change.
